The Lilac Time album ‘Dance Till The Stars Come Down’ is once more available on vinyl after selling out all ts initial run. Writer, filmmaker, and comedian Stewart Lee, hailed the record as the album of the year, and the best of Stephen Duffy’s career saying it is ‘The sound of a man accepting ageing and the approach of death, the album achieves something of the gathering twilight of Dylan’s Time Out Of Mind, in these largely acoustic ballads’.

Dance Till All The Stars Come Down’ is The Lilac Time’s first album since Return To Us in 2019 and the eleventh overall, their eponymous debut being released in 1987.

The Lilac Time are original members Nick & Stephen Duffy, with Claire Duffy who joined in 1999 and helped out immeasurably here by Ben Peeler. John Paterno returns to mix and master as he has done since ‘No Sad Songs’ of 2015.

Without conventional drums or bass, their fondness for country and folk hues are clearer. These are unequivocally and absolutely the best songs Stephen Duffy has ever written in his twenty or so long playing album career.

The Lilac Time are currently working on a deluxe reissue of 1991’s  ‘Astronauts’ album for the Needle Mythology label and say they still love being who they are and they love this album and they hope you will find time to dance till all the stars come down with them.
