The Lilac Time return with their new album ‘Dance Till All The Stars Come Down’, their first since Return To Us in 2019 and the eleventh since they released their eponymous debut in 1987.

The Lilac Time are original members Nick & Stephen Duffy, with Claire Duffy who joined in 1999 and helped out immeasurably here by Ben Peeler. John Paterno returns to mix and master as he has done since ‘No Sad Songs’ of 2015.

Without conventional drums or bass, their fondness for country and folk hues are clearer. These are unequivocally and absolutely the best songs Stephen Duffy has ever written in his twenty or so long playing album career.

The first single is out now and is called ‘A Makeshift Raft’, a song that asks if those seeking freedom need drown, then ponders the inevitability of continuous wars. It praises the America of Allen Ginsberg before a few bars of yodelling and It ends by eulogising fingers, guitars and songs of love. Something for everyone then. The song is accompanied by a video created by Martin Carr.

The Lilac Time will try their very best to appear on podcasts and television programmes. They will also encourage radio disc jockey’s to play these songs and journalists from the remaining musical disquisitions, both in print and online, to write favourable things about this heritage band.

In the past it has been known for The Lilac Time to play concerts, appear at pop rock & folk festivals. In store appearances have happened too. All of these things still remain possible.

Pretty soon it’ll be time to update their website, post a picture and a link on their Instagram page and announce the release on the infernal netherworld of Twitter.

They love being who they are and they love this album and they hope you will find time to dance till all the stars come down with them.
